Within 24 hours of the loss of a public safety officer, the family receives a financial contribution from Shield 24-7, and also at this time a representative of the organization is assigned as a mentor to the family to provide assistance as may be requested by the family.  At a convenient time, usually within 2-3 weeks, the organization will meet with the family and discuss the family's financial situation.
